Small city, short distances, and a large rental market — which means a lot of collections between one tenant and the next.
Milpitas is compact, and that suits this business. From the yard in Fremont it is about ten miles up the 880, and once we are in the city everything is a few minutes from everything else — so a collection booked in the morning is often done by lunchtime.
The streets built in the sixties and seventies — Sunnyhills, Serra, Piedmont, Curtner — are single-storey ranch houses and two-storey houses with driveways and garages, and those garages are usually full. Out towards the hills, the houses step up the slope and the loads come down stairs.
The other constant here is rental turnover. There is a large apartment and townhome population around the Great Mall district and the centre of town, and a departing tenant's furniture is one of the most common things we are called to collect.
Four kinds of load, and between them they cover almost everything we are called for here.

The familiar job: shelving, boxes, old appliances, a broken bike or two, and the space behind them nobody has seen in years.
Everything that will not fit in a car or a bin, carried out of the room it stands in.
Fridges, freezers, washers, dryers, water heaters and microwaves, taken away and disposed of properly.
The tract streets west of the freeway, the hillside above them, and the apartments and townhomes nearer the centre.
Not on the list? The list is the parts we get asked for most, not the parts we cover. Ring and we will tell you in one sentence.
Three steps. None of them are on you.
Tell us what you've got and where it is. A couch, a garage, a whole floor. It all counts.

You get the price before we lift anything. If it works for you, we start right there.

We load it, sweep up, and leave. You get the space back the same day you called.

Stairs and tight access are the job, not an extra. This is what Milpitas usually throws at us.
About ten miles from the yard and all of it motorway. Milpitas is one of the easiest cities on our list to reach on the same day.
The tract streets give the truck a driveway stop, and the load goes straight in.
In the hills the front door is often a flight up or down from the road. Say so when you call and we will bring the crew for it.
The yard is on Stewart Avenue in Fremont and Milpitas is about 7 miles from it, so the truck is usually with you inside the hour when the diary allows. Same day here is routine rather than a favour.
What people ask us before they book, in this city.
It is about ten miles from the yard, straight up the 880, so a same-day collection is usually easy. Call in the morning and it is often gone by the afternoon.
Yes, and Milpitas has a lot of them. One load usually clears a one-bedroom, and you get the price before anything is lifted.
Yes. A single mattress or a single appliance is a normal job — it is often exactly why people ring us, because the bin will not take it and a car will not carry it.
Yes. We come, look, and give you a number on the spot. There is no call-out fee and no deposit, and if you say no, we leave and that is the end of it.
Tap to call. Tell us what you've got. It's gone today.
