Fifty-year garages
A garage full since the seventies: workbenches, paint, broken appliances, holiday boxes and the furniture that was replaced but never thrown out.

Fifties tract houses still in the hands of the families who bought them, and new townhomes with far less room to keep anything.
Santa Clara has two housing stories running side by side. In the older tracts around the university and Old Quad, the houses went up in the fifties and many are still with the families who bought them new. Fifty years in one house fills a garage, a shed and a spare room, and clearing it is often the start of a move or an estate.
Over at Rivermark and the newer developments, it is the opposite problem: three-storey townhomes with a tandem garage and no storage at all, where a mattress or a sofa has to come down two flights of stairs to reach the street.
Between the two, the university keeps the rental market moving. Every term brings a wave of units emptying out, and what is left behind is a small, straightforward load that we can usually clear the same day.
Four kinds of load, and between them they cover almost everything we are called for here.
A garage full since the seventies: workbenches, paint, broken appliances, holiday boxes and the furniture that was replaced but never thrown out.
A whole house cleared at a careful pace when someone moves into care or a property is settled, with family pieces set aside.
Beds, desks, futons, bags and small appliances left at the end of a term, cleared in one visit.
Furniture carried down two or three flights from the newer developments, loaded from the drive or a visitor bay.

Not on the list? The list is the parts we get asked for most, not the parts we cover. Ring and we will tell you in one sentence.
Three steps. None of them are on you.
Tell us what you've got and where it is. A couch, a garage, a whole floor. It all counts.

You get the price before we lift anything. If it works for you, we start right there.

We load it, sweep up, and leave. You get the space back the same day you called.

Stairs and tight access are the job, not an extra. This is what Santa Clara usually throws at us.
The older tracts load from a driveway at ground level, which is the quickest collection we do.
Stairs and tight turns are the normal case at Rivermark. Tell us the floor and whether the staircase turns.
Permit parking and narrow streets near the campus. We only need the truck alongside long enough to load, and we will find a legal spot.
The yard is on Stewart Avenue in Fremont and Santa Clara is about 11 miles from it, so the truck is usually with you inside the hour when the diary allows. Same day here is routine rather than a favour.
What people ask us before they book, in this city.
Roughly 15 miles, up the 880 and the 237. It is an easy run outside peak hours, so same-day collections are usually realistic.
Yes, and it is one of the jobs we do most often here. Nothing is rushed, and anything valuable or sentimental is set aside for the family before the truck is loaded.
Yes — fridges, freezers, washers, dryers, water heaters, televisions and monitors, all disposed of through the proper channels rather than dumped.
No. Leave everything where it is. We carry it out, which is the point of hiring us rather than borrowing a truck.
Tap to call. Tell us what you've got. It's gone today.
