Which service do I need?
Whichever one describes the pile. One couch and a mattress is furniture removal. Everything behind the garage door is a house and garage cleanout. Half a house is an estate cleanout. If you're not sure, say what you see when you open the door and we'll tell you on the phone in a sentence.
Is there a load too small to call about?
No. One mattress, one fridge, one armchair is a normal call, and single items are usually the quickest jobs of the day. Tell us what it is and where it is, and we'll tell you straight what taking it away looks like.
How is the price worked out?
Junk removal is priced by volume, which means how much room your load takes up in the truck, not by the hour and not by the item. Across the Bay Area most household jobs land somewhere between a few boxes and a full truck. You get your number in person, standing next to the pile, before anything is lifted. If it doesn't work for you, we leave and there's nothing to pay.
Can you really come the same day?
That's the whole business. Call (408) 202-9877 and in most cases we're there the same day, often within a few hours. Call in the morning and the space is usually back by the evening. If the day is already full we'll tell you straight on the phone instead of booking you and not turning up.
Do I have to move anything outside first?
No. Leave it where it is. We do the carrying, including up and down stairs, out of basements, attics, back gardens and carports. Point at what goes and it goes. We sweep the space before we leave.
What happens to it after you take it?
As little as possible goes to landfill. What can be donated gets donated, what can be recycled gets recycled, and scrap metal is separated out. The rest goes to a licensed transfer station. Furniture in usable condition doesn't need to be thrown away, and we'd rather it wasn't.
Is there anything you can't take?
Hazardous waste. Paint, solvents, motor oil, chemicals, asbestos and medical waste have to go to a hazardous waste facility, because the transfer stations we use won't accept them. Tell us what you've got when you call and we'll say yes or no before we drive out.
Do you work with contractors, landlords and businesses?
Every week. Contractors get us back as many times as the build needs. Landlords and property managers get a unit cleared the day it turns over, so it's ready to show. Businesses can have us come after hours if that's when it works. Landscapers can load us or leave it to us.
